One of the movies that I can watch again and again without fail and it just gets better. The screenplay (written by Emma Thompson) is amazing, the direction by Lee and the acting of the whole cast. A superb movie that has me still watching it today as I was 6 years ago.

Very very boring and not as good as Pride and Prejudice.

I absolutely love this movie! Emma Thompson did a fantastic job with the screenplay. It is just such a great story (by a great author.. I'm a huge fan of Jane Austen and absolutely adore her novels) and Emma Thompson did such a great job adapting the story. This is definitely one of my favorite movies. Great story, great script, great cast. Just all around great. (This cracks me up: "The coins spin and bounce, catching the sun like jewels. One hits Fanny in the eye. She reels and falls over backwards into a gorse bush." hehe).

What attracts really to “sense and sensibility” is the title, and which what attract me personally speaking, are two words had been shining “sense and sensibility”, but after watching the movie, I’ve recognized that the content of the novel is greater. It proves the real meaning of the true love and teaches us that the true love requires a balance between reason and emotions.

Wonderful movie, beautiful and fantastic. It should have won best picture and many other awards. It is so sweet and I'm glad Alan Rickman is playing a truly good character instead of the villain or strange character. The screenplay is wonderful and the music is brilliant! Patrick Doyle is a great composer! I watched this movie two times in a week just because it was so stunning! If you haven't yet, watch it! It's a must see.

A mesmerising, glorious - hall of mirrors sob movie, though I must say that it is extremely better plotted than the novel itself, the addition of Shakespeare sonnets were vastly witty. I would like to ask the name of the passage read by Marianne in the film with Edward Ferrars? it bgins with... "propitious light..." is that also a shakespeare sonnet?

"No voice divine the storm allayed, No light propitious shone, When snatched from all effectual aide, We perished, each, alone;" Is actually from William Cowper's "The Cast Away". I was surprised when I found it in a textbook as I thought it was Shakespeare too.

I am so delighted to have come across this! It gives insight into the few small confusions of the movie and was an absolute pleasure to read just for itself. One of my favorite movies of all time.

Love Jane Austen's books. I have seen this movie several dozen times, most often on relaxing Saturday afternoons in winter months. It was a sheer pleasure to read this screenplay and had practically the entirety memorized prior. How talented Emma Thompson is to have adapted Austen's book to this screenplay. The movie is precise to this format. I just saw Ms. Thompson on a SCREENWRITERS FORUM state she made 12 drafts at a small table in long hand with light in between cleaning, exercising and the sorts. How CLEVER of a project to take on.. It is one of my most favorite MOVIES. Thank You.
